The fantasy barista championships is a project coordinated by Lanny Huang and sponsored by Sprudge. The league has no official ties to World Coffee Events. The full rules of the competition are as follows:
1. Participants draft a team of 6 baristas from the pool of 60 competitors. The total salaries of their team must not exceed the salary cap. (the salary cap is determined by the average player salary multiplied by 6)
2. Teams will be awarded points based on the performance of each barista. Baristas are scored based on their scoresheet total (half points are rounded up). Additionally, baristas will receive 15 points for advancing to the semifinals and 30 points for advancing to the finals.
3. The highest score a barista obtains over the course of 4 days will count. So a barista that gets a higher score in the semifinals than the finals will be awarded points according to their semifinal score.
4. Barista's salary were determined by predictive factors based on their personal history, their company history, and their country history.
5. 100% of the cash collected from competition entry will be paid out (minus ecommerce fees). The number of winners will be determined by the number of entrants. For every 20 players bought in, there will be a winner. Amongst the top scorers, cash will be awarded based on how high they scored. (their scores will be added up, and they will be paid a percentage of the pot = to the percentage of the total)
